This kit shows you that an LED can also be used as an input device. Cover one LED with your finger or just block out the light going to it for a few seconds (the time it takes depends on how bright the room is). Some of the other LEDs will light and a sound will play. A different sound will play for each LED covered.

Laser Pointer
This is a red (wave length 650nm) laser pointer that comes with a key chain, 3 batteries, and 5 heads.
The laser pointer can create five different fashionable patterns by changing the head of the pointer.
If you take the laser pointer apart, the laser module size is about 1 1/4 inches. You can put the module into a robot for a game of robot laser tag.
Red Filter
To make a sensor more sensitive to the laser red light, you can use a red filter.
Comes with all the software you need to program the board plus a serial programming cable to hook up to your P.C. This platform teaches you how to program the PIC microcontroller in assembly language thru a series of lessons.
Communicate with the P.C. so that you can display data from the board. Use one timer to time more than one event. Build a programming time frame. Program the analog to digital converter (ADC) to find the voltage across a potentiometer. Find the center position of a servo using the ADC. Write code to run the servo. This is the fun and low cost way to get into programming the PIC microcontroller.
